Zamani is a new collection - and bursting with gems I have saved over many years, as well as the most exquisite hand forged glass African beads, and I will be introducing ancient Roman glass beads found & excavated from the Silk Route - and other tstatskas which I am very excited about using in upcoming pieces.

Most of my gems & bijoux are hand-crafted, and I love hunting for pieces for you that aren't mass produced, and have something really unique that you just can't find mainstream in the shops. (Slowly going into our lovely independant boutiques, & fabulous markets too.)

I have a particularor passion for that which is made according to a tradition or culture - and I love to think of us being able to wear pieces with such provenance - rich in heritage, & ripe through generations & centuries of craft.

How precious to keep these skills alive?

Some of my mixed colour palettes (particularly Gaia Collection)- have been many years in the making - crafted by careful collection of many strands of different gems - to create a particular colour ombre or mood - connection and feeling - so they will come and go as I cycle through collection & creation.

As a South African, intensely proud of our people and our nation - adornment through beads and beading, & the most exquisite array of gemstones are innate to our culture - we dream in colour, shout from rooftops, dance in the sun & there is NOTHING on earth quite like the warmth and joy of our shared Ubuntu - & we, the people - have it in spades!

Like all nations, we pride ourselves by means of our visual heritage - passing down memories in colour, patterns, music & poetry.

It is a feeling - this colourful, cultural dance that binds us together, keeps us alive & expressive & joyful.

Wear with joy, and mix with curiosity - colour & gemstones are so powerful!
